Daikura Clan Sashimono

Immagine
The Daikura are the second of the six great clans. Militarily, they are perhaps more powerful than the Daiasu. However, the need to maintain numerous castles in order to keep the Oni and other peoples in their domains, greatly reduces their military possibilities. Since the final defeat of the Kokuden, instead of improving, the situation has worsened and about one third of their domains are almost no man's land. Only the castles and their dependencies form islands of stability in a territory preyed upon by the shinobi clan of the demon flower and bands of wild Oni. According to tradition, the Daikura clan is descended from the god of Mount Yokinobu, who is said to have given them a fan made of pine. This great treasure (hence the clan's name), kept in the great hall of the family shrine (another possible reading of the kanji that form the name of Uji), is invaluable and endowed with great powers It is not clear, however, what powers they are (maybe it could control the weather ...

The spider's web house

The old house stood in a small clearing within the bamboo forest. The second largest bamboo forest in all of Shin-Rin and, of course, the largest in all of Yatai. Small wooden houses with thatched roofs, like this one, dotted the great forest, from its edges to its most secret depths. The forest was truly vast, occupying about a quarter of the entire island of Shizumi, and was considered sacred and protected by the venerable God Old Bamboo, whom legends said was the brother of the Goddess Yaezakura no Mikoto, the mother of the islands and protector of the Empire. Even from a distance, thanks to his skills as an exorcist, he could sense the benevolent influence the God exerted over the entire forest. A gentle hand that protected from the impurities of evil and chaos. Just b...

Second Prince Baoren

Immagine
Even as a child, Baoren (保仁, Bǎorén, Protection of the benevolence) never liked court etiquette or life in the imperial palace. Baoren has always been the nightmare of tutors and masters. Even as a child, the young prince showed remarkable skill with the sword, so much so that he was considered a prodigy. Convinced that the empire should be a dispenser of justice, he fought and killed a corrupt official. This cost him suspension from his court duties as captain of the guard. After a terrible quarrel with the Empress, who wanted to punish the official according to the laws of the empire and not with the blade of a wandering avenger, Baoren cut his hair, which can only be kept long by the imperial aristocracy, and makes himself look like a plebeian swordsman. He goes around the country with his sword to punish the wicked and right wrongs. Followed by the agents of the Yǐngwěi (The Shadowguard), always in between to use the force to capture the Prince or not, and the commander of the whic...
